Owner & Technology Specialist at Houston Conservatory of Music
Originally from Mexico, Gabriel Díaz Ramos is an engineer, educator, and researcher who believes technology should make learning more engaging and accessible. As an owner and technology specialist at the Houston Conservatory of Music, he develops and manages the school's digital systems while supporting its teachers, students, and families. His work combines technical problem-solving with a genuine commitment to education and community.
Gabriel began his career teaching high-school physics and robotics before working in the wind-energy industry, where he used drones and artificial intelligence to inspect turbine blades. His research has since focused on robotics, machine learning, path planning, and privacy-preserving educational data. He has published in IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier and presented at international conferences on artificial intelligence, robotics, and engineering.
A Fulbright-García Robles Fellow, Gabriel is pursuing a PhD in Applied Physics at Rice University, where he conducts research and supports instruction in machine learning. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Rice, a MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science from MIT, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Universidad Panamericana. Gabriel brings to the Houston Conservatory of Music a distinctive combination of technical expertise, teaching experience, and creative problem-solving.
